First picture is after a polish with a Da polisher
Finish was smooth but there was some surface defects
Keyed the surface and building with some lacquer now to hopefully improve on it
Looks great when the lacquers wet (second picture) few more coats and another polish with help hopefully

got a lot of hours in this now should have just bought a carbon blade haha

changed the heater matrix over today
Didn’t have to fully remove the dash but it would have helped if I had
Not the nicest job but happy it’s done now
Just gotta put the rest of the trims in tomorrow and bleed it up
Old matrix had split the whole way along

also stood on one of my demister vents so if anyone has the drivers side one for a good price let me know

So the heater matrix works and bled up ok,
Got a new shifter for the car
Box is coming off tomorrow hopefully to check a noisy release bearing and measure up for a bigger clutch master cylinder

also have some 3” stainless offcuts so might delete the mid box as the cars a bit quiet with both the Hks boxes

Got the shifter fitted.
made a adapter plate to adapt the fd stud pattern to the bmw one used some left over weather strip from the spoiler installation to seal it on

Managed to use the fd grommet/isolater whatever it’s called to seal the shifter from the cabin, originally had issues selecting reverse so slotted the holes to centre the shifter better

had a chance to go for a drive today and the difference is massive from the previous short shifter
Feels very direct and the cabin is noticeably quieter and for the price (under £100) it’s a great addition to the car

next up is a bigger clutch master cylinder
My current set up is a new stock master with a new e36 slave that’s been extended
It works but where the fd master can’t move enough fluid I’ve had to set it in a way that the release bearing is sat close to the clutch and it’s noisy sometimes
