So after a bit of community advice (thank you all for helping), I made the decision to go with R35 coils... Admittedly it took some faffing on my part, as I really hate throwing parts at cars, and I couldn't understand why I was now having ignition problems despite all of the work. I understand now... Ultimately, if I correct the wiring that's on the car, and try again with the IGN coils, it's still a gamble, and not one I'm willing to take right now. The negatives around changing to R35 seem friendlier than staying with the IGNs.

The car is obviously still rich AF though. The new coils have arrived, Stu is waiting for brackets to be made and it'll then be off to him for the change. Would also like a bit of a map check around idle, cruise & general low throttle fueling as it shouldn't be rich enough to cut out on me!

Is the general consensus r35 now then? I’ve only ever really heard of RT not liking the ign coils but I don’t frequent much discussion

Meh it depends who you speak to I guess. Seems to be a lot more horror stories with 1GN at least. Anything on my car seems to be a gamble at this point and R35 seems a safer bet. Pains me though, if it was a cheaper engine setup I'd correct the wiring and continue with 1GN
