Lose rear end

There could be more than one issue, what are your suspension too mounts like? what tyes are you running? I know this sounds mad but have you checked your tyre pressures too? I once had a feeling like my back end was loose and it was the tyres i put the front on the back and back on the front to diagnose it and the snake loose feeling went away.
Tyres are pirelli p zero neros, but il be replacing them shortly, its more of a metallic noise.

Also new coilovers and top mounts have been fitted this week along side all the bushes as i wanted to refresh the whole cars suspension .

Took the ppf out , there is a small crack , im not sure as to if the ppf is actually twisted as ive never removed one of these before.

The noise was so bad in the car, would this little crack make that much sound ?

heres a few pics of the ppf if anyone thinks theres anything out of place please let me know.

Should i buy a good conditioncused one, or can i just have this one welded ?

thanks
tj

If that crack is just before the top 2x bolts for the diff, that's exactly where mine went, crack nearly 1mm wide on mine though. - looks like it's there from the very close pic lol.

And yes it would deffo be causing some issues.

If you explain what it is to a competent welder they should be able to do it. I got a replacement as the guy buggered mine and it was just easier as it was off the car again. You should find a replacement one easy enough anyway.

Before top two bolts, gearbox side i think cos the heat shield is under it so u cant see it from the underside .

I might aswell replace the engine mounts at the same time i think

Ok yours broke gerbox side, same place different end lol.

And yeh If you haven't done engine mounts that would help it to fail easier, worse if you polly the diff only as the engine on worn mounts puts twists the ppf, and the diff side is solid so crack... If both ends are solid there's less twist etc on it.

Do you think i can just weld that crack up and the rest of the ppf is ok , doesnt look bent or twisted to you?

Poly Engine mounts

Are these anygood , i cant remember who it was but someone posted them on the forum a while ago and il buy them if they will fit.

Thanks for your help.

If you can yourself, and the crack is all closed why not give it a go?

I'm fitting a mazdaspeed ppf to mine next week if you want the one off my FD? I'll be listing it for sale next week. It has no cracks and is painted with decent epoxy. Local too :ROFLMAO:.

Ohh from epoxy to red, nice bling lool.

Apart from colour, what is the difference with the mazdaspeed one? I can remember a few threads on us forum settling on it being just that 🤷‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️:ROFLMAO:

It's made from rolled steel and is around 10% stiffer according to Mazdaspeed's blurb when they sold it. It's totally for cool points and nothing else. All about the shines, even if you can't see them :D.

Don't they have a few extra gussets welded in for rigidity?

Looolz, can't beat buried bling :ROFLMAO:

10% stiffer eh??? You know you now have to try to rig something up to test the difference.. We can't just believe some advertising spin, and you'll be getting bored now your engines back in....

Ok now the car is fully poly bushed, pillow balls, new coilovers and ppf, the noise is much much worse now 😂😂.

Sounds like metal sheering against metal at the rear and a knocking and its real loud.

Only when i start moving and come to a stop its a clicking sheering noise, and it can be heard outside the car.

Wondering if it could be the rear axles and diff ?

Ive got the car booked in at a local garage next week to have a look at it but id rather do the work myself if i can so someone doesnt wrap it around a tree for me 😂

This is starting to sound diff related - have there been any burnouts or launches?
No burnouts and no launches recently, ive been drivinf it alot more recently is all ive done differently,

The last 3 times i drove it is when it started making these weird noises and acting strange.

If anyones local and knows about these things can come look at it , i dont mind paying petrol money ect.

Have you checked the diff has oil/enough in it? Any signs of leaking at seals?

Just a thought as It's easy to get to.

Could drain it off to see if there's any bits in it.

I havent drained it or checked it, il look at this next.

Dont think the diff oil is ment to be a metallic colour with chunks in it ?😂

Boom! at least you've found something propperly broken now

They look like the teeth from the little planet - name? gears in the middle. Same as I broke or rather stripped lol. Got a second hand diff of ebay with one of those teeth broken aswell (gave a replacement etc)

Seems like their week point?
