The restaurant has WiFi. If you have a job that uses a laptop just work from there. I did it once at Cadwell Park...?

I'm all set for this now. My RX-8 is already loaded with track wheels and tools, and has been treated to some refurbed front calipers, uprated arbs and a short shifter recently along with a rather necessary rear suspension arm and droplink replacement. Hopefully we'll get some dry laps in!

p.s. remember my kick plates :p

I won't forget. I am hoping the weather holds up and I am looking forward to using my GoPro, Track Addict app and having a few nice videos after the day is done.

Despite best efforts car is still at Dynotorque with brakes in pieces and suffering from electrical issues, was soo lookingforward to this............

Have a great time chaps, hopefully catch you on the next one...

Ah man, so it looks like it is just Stu, Jaydee and myself driving FDs on Monday? Well, I'm looking forward to it anyway and meeting Ash and having a go as a passenger in Mighty Condor's RX-8 shed/track car.

As long as weather is good I will be filming my sessions with a rear strut bar cam and helmet cam in car. I might film a few passenger rides too. All depends on how it goes.

I expect a better turnout at Santa Pod on 17 March and the next track day in April!

Well gutted, not some bs excuse tried everything to pull it out of the bag, but alas didn't happen. Kudos to DM-motorsport and dynotorque who put up with me constantly hassling them, with failed plan after failed plan.

Rain, rain and more rain. Looks like I will be spectating all day and taking passenger rides. I will see if I can get a video of a passenger lap or two.

Well...home since 5pm. It rained all day and never stopped. As a result, I never actually went out there after the sighting laps.

In the morning I went out with Stu in his track rat (similar setup to mine - 1 bar, twins, 3" exhaust all the way back, water injection) and there was no grip anywhere. Understeer to oversteer in the corners because of changing grip conditions (couldn't predict how it would behave in each corner), any positive boost had the tail all over the place even beyond 100 mph. Jay went out on his own but came back after 3 laps and never went out again. I think Stu managed 3 attempts out there but we were all ready to pack up by 2pm because it was clear the weather wasn't going to change.

After the drive with Stu I knew I wasn't going out there unless the weather changed and dried up. I have put too much time and money into my car to take the risk and I haven't done a track day in it for 15 months and never at the new power level. I also know I don't have enough experience to catch the tail when it lets go without me doing it on purpose.

The RX-8 guys had a better time given they had traction control, but still none of them could put the power down either, and as you can imagine quite a few red flags today.

Such a shame but at least we had about 12 rotary enthusiasts there to shoot the shit and for that aspect the day was good. I'm only glad the track day was cheap but I am looking forward to another day when it's dry.

?

Yeah not the best today. Every time that I tried to push myself the grip just wasn't there and the traction control was certainty worked today. Some of the other RX-8 guys managed better with different tyres but mine weren't a match for the conditions. No sense in risking a FD in that.

Still managed to have some fun, especially given the number of friendly rotary nuts around.

Sounds like a right crap day, how many people stayed over the night before? is there anything else on the cards soon?

Yep sounded very disappointing especially when quite a number attended. Nevermind though its just the start of the year so hopefully a good few more yet to come.

Not the best for sure but it was nice to have a day off and get to know Stu and Jay a bit better. Funny quote from both of them is that they commented on the 99 twins they run at 1.0 bar in their car. They love the setup so much that they said had they known back in the 90s/early 2000s how good a car on 99 twins was with the increased boost, they would have never bothered with single turbos for their past track cars.

As for what is on the cards:

Brands Hatch - 6 March @ £149. I can get a discount (c.10%) if 5 or more sign up.

Santa Pod - 17 March.

Looking at April and May activities as well.
