Hey guys,

The first FD:OC track day below!

I have booked the Snetterton 300 on 19 February 2018 for a blistering price of £99 through MSVT. Places are going quick and prices will increase in the next days. I also booked a garage which can be shared with 2 other cars. Accomodation nearby for those travelling from a distance is also very reasonable at the local Premier Inn, Travelodge or Breckland Lodge.

The Snetterton 300 circuit is one of my favourites in the UK as it is very fast and quite technical. The Bentley straight is fast as hell. In a stock car you will be pushing 130 mph. The Bomb Hole is one of my favourite corners when you get it right and Coram is a butt clencher when pushing the limits of your tyres.

I have done a track day here in February a couple of times in the past 4 years and it's always been a pretty good day in terms of weather (knock on wood).

Noise limit is 105dB(A) static and 92dB(A) drive-by but aside from the static test I don't think I have ever seen someone black flagged here on a drive-by.

Book online here or by phone:

http://www.msvtrackdays.com/car/calendar/2018/feb/19-sn/

Phone 0843 453 3000 (note this is a Premium Number, charges are only 7p/minute, plus any phone company access charges)

Ask to book Snetterton on Monday 19th February.

You will need to provide your name, credit card details, postal address, email address, make and model of your car.

A large number of MX-5 and RX-8 guys are already signed up. Over 15 confirmed names excluding myself as a FD guy. Don't let me be the only FD out there. Join me!

£10 to be a passenger. £30 for an additional driver. £10 helmet hire. £29 at Premier Inn Thetford for a room the night before. £8.99 for breakfast at Premier Inn.

cib24: Booked with garage that can be shared among 3 cars. Need to book hotel.
Rotor Torque: Booked
Sacrilegious-FD Booked
Mighty condor Booked but might be in his RX-8
Fischer Will come along and be our cheerleader.

Call AA or RAC to tow it or come along and do a track day in your daily ?

Nelson looks like a nice place for me to spin off and go into the wall......

Nah, after the Bentley straight you are so hard on the brakes you won't be going quick at Nelson. And if you really miss the braking point you can skip Nelson and go straight on from the Bentley Straight (only in emergencies).

Had a nice off at Brundle in Time Attack! Got a bit too confident with my late braking ha ha!

Great price, will see if I can make this.

Cheap that, do I see adeel on that list?????

defo have to make it to some trackdays this year

He's never gonna track that shown queen, only ever seen 30mph once on those London cruises

This is one of my favorite tracks, just a shame my fd will not be ready this time around.

Will book the time of work next week and will be pestering for passenger rides on the day to see how they handle on track.

Excellent. Looking forward to saying hello. Make sure you get a ride with one of the key RX-8 guys I know as well. Former Formula 3 driver (I hope he is there). He usually outruns almost everything despite the power gap on a smaller circuit.

Last time I looked on the RX8 forum there was around 10 of them going which will be good.

Guys (and girls), the track day is still only £99. Come on. Someone else get in on this. I have a garage reserved. Let's get at least 5-6 of us out on the first official FD:OC track day this year.

Hey all,

Snetterton is now £119 so the £99 promotion period has passed. It is still a good price if you are interested in a social track day since Snetterton is £170+ in the summer on a lot of days.

Track day now sold out. See you guys later in the year. I'll try one in March, otherwise April. How does Donington sound?

Looking forward to this now, not sure if I will be travelling up in the morning or staying over the night before.

If an old fat bald bloke keeps trying to get in the passenger seat that will be me, the last time I was on track
there I managed to spin off at Murrays, wet track, 2nd gear and a heavy right foot ended me chasing down one
of my mates much to his amusement.

Drivers for Monday. Here is a breakdown of some information relating to the event and the garage placement. All FD's and RX-8s will be together from garage 22-26 so at least we will have like-minded rotary guys nearby all day. I think the petrol on sight is 97-98 octane but costs about £0.15 - £0.20 per litre more than driving 10 minutes away to the nearest Shell station. The difference is that by going to Shell you lose about 30-40 minutes compared to 10 minutes by using their pump.

For your information:

- Signing on is at 7.30am in the Venue Office. Please arrive in plenty of time and ensure you have your DVLA licence and the attached indemnity form completed ready to show the signing on team. You will be issued a wrist band and car sticker.

- ‘Groups’ of extra drivers/passengers must gain approval and pre book.
Passengers will be signed on at 10:00am in the Venue Office and require a wrist band. Minimum age is 14 at this circuit and one per car while on circuit.

- Your vehicle will need to be noise tested by the Petrol Pumps. The maximum noise limit for the event is 105db static and 92dB drive by.
- Briefing will start at 8.30am in the Tyrrell’s restaurant. All drivers must attend the safety briefing and receive a briefing wrist band.

- The sighting laps commence on circuit at 9:00am. Please ensure you have made your way into the pitlane prior to this to avoid delays.

- A map of important areas features below for your reference along with the circuit address and information link.

Last minute confirmation. We have one more going. Stu and Jaydee. Nice! They are taking the place of the Ranjan person so we will have two garages to share amongst the FD crowd and perhaps one RX-8.
