JapWestMods - Be cautious

I dunno, after reading that driftworks thread, would you really take that chance even if a few people have had good experiences? When running a business, stuff can go wrong, but its how the company reacts to those issues that set apart a proper outfit from the cowboys. Thats my opinion anyway. Depends on what youre buying but if its big ticket item, I'd rather pay a slight premium for a better service, especially if importing. Be especially wary of cowboy outfits who lure you in with a low price but then use that as an excuse for their shit service or worse, jack the price up later.

100% this

I had an issue buying a complete door that I wanted to strip for some internal parts. Was supposed to be collection from their location but after buying the item I contacted them several times about when to collect before I took my car to a garage for some work. On the day I was supposed to be going to garage I was going to stop at their address and just knock on the door and messaged them saying I'd be at their address to collect.

Got my first response with a message during the drive that the door was at a completely different location (like Yorkshire compared to Hertfordshire) and that I'd have to pick it up ASAP otherwise they'd be relisting it (despite me having paid in full).

Didn't bother just filed a claim through eBay and got a full refund but will never use these jokers.

I'm with you on that; it makes a huge difference with how companies are with their customer service.

I just saw the google reviews were actually pretty god which was why I was asking about if anyone had good experiences.

Want to get the FEED GT3 kit and saw they had it - thought it might be a bit simpler to buy it through a UK company but in this instance, maybe not.

I'm finding it difficult to get all of the stuff I want for it through RHD Japan so I might have to use Nengun.

Get it touch with Jesse streeter - owns a 4 rotor tcp kitted Rx7 and has an excellent reputation.

I don’t really trust google reviews to be honest. Too easily manipulated. And looking at the japwestmods google reviews, there are far too many positive reviews from one time reviewers. To me that’s either a fake review (these people haven’t ever had better service before?) or one that the owner requested.

I would have said try JDM Distro but after a friend/member on here took 14 months to receive a bumper, I’m not so sure

Fair enough

I’ve used Japwest for years now, delivery via crate is slow but I always opt for air mail and receive my stuff. A lot of the problems I’ve seen are just people expecting things to be pristine when obviously they’re buying used parts and say they’re happy with the pictures

communication is key but I’ve never been in a real rush with things I’ve bought besides an ORC clutch which I needed within a week he got from japan via airmail

problem also is that he doesn’t include duty/fees in his prices so people get upset when they get a letter through or things aren’t undervalued for them
