Briggsy's TCP Magic Track Project

When i was reading this i thought i was reading my own projet thread.lol. I have the TCP kit with G-face style but i have the RE 02 front end. I just prefered it at the time when i ordered it. I also have the Battle aero wing! and some other things aswell that you have. if you need any info on the kit let me know mate. I have had the kit a while now and its all fitted but the rest of the car is goin a little slower than i would like. but i will watch this product closely!

Do you? That's cool!! That's fair enough, as soon as i saw the full kit with the carbon i couldnt not have the full thing, although its costing me an absolute bomb to get here 😣
I may have to drop you a message and have a good chat, always love talking to other project owners, especially with a TCP kit and similar plans to mine Haha.

Progress on mine wont be very quick unfortunately but by doing it properly and doing a pretty much ground up restoration is the best way to go.

Yeah this kit is definitely not in any world cheap to buy and cheap to get! feel free to PM me your number and can chat on whats app! its alot easier for me to get on my phone than my laptop at the moment. be really interested in seeing some pics. i am now in the process of starting my own build thread as i now have competition!lol. to be fair i have been dragging my heels on the car as i have had the kit for 3 years!

No! I'm not looking forward to it arriving in a sense and having to pay tax to collect 😂 it will 100% be worth it though when I have it fitted etc.

You should, will be good to see how yours progresses too. I'll message you now pal.

So after a very long time, I now have my project back and can finally start to try and get the build back on track.

I have ended up swapping shells (same year etc) but this does have the roll cage, flat floor, floor mounted pedal box, fully undersealed and a few other bits done.

Unfortunately the weather was awful yesterday and I'm in a cast at the moment so didn't manage to get any proper photos, but I will get some decent ones soon when I can get to my friends garage where I am now keeping the car and can get access at any time.

Best 2 photos I got as I followed it to my friends to put it in his garage.

Okay, so I now have a few photos I got from Paul's Instagram with pictures of what my new shell looks like.

I now have a floor mounted OBP pedal box, both subframes powdercoated, all controls arms powdercoated and powerflex poly bushes fitted, a full weld in roll cage (harness bar has been removed as it needs moving backwards to prevent the seat hitting it), flat floor in the boot to replace the original spare wheel well, steering rack is now manual rather than power steering and the underside and arches have been re-sprayed.

Looking forward to hopefully updating this thread more often now I have the shell back. When I am out of my cast, I will be able to get some photos of how it actually sits and looks now.

Yes mate, my original shell was booked in, but for whatever reasons never got any work done on it, so we ended up agreeing to swap shells, as his had pretty much what I was wanting from him anyway.

Looking good mate! Do my eyes deceive me or are the front chassis legs carbon wrapped or similar?

Technically I think he is shut now, but he had my shell since last year. Then one thing led to another and I now have his 😂

I did get told about him once I'd already gave him my shell and cash, but I think, after a very long time, I have a decent outcome. Especially compared to others I heard of.

Cheers mate! So glad to have it back. Yeah they have been carbon skinned, not sure if I'll keep it or not, as when I get the kit arrive and it sees paint, the bay will be yellow.
Does look pretty cool though.

What colour have you settled on now?

Not 100% on what shade etc but it will deffo be yellow.
I went to the body shop it will be going to a while ago and he/we had some ideas about something that should look epic.

Will have to discuss with him again when the kit does arrive and we have it fitted etc.

Yeah I think so, at the minute anyway haha.

The underneath and the suspension and subframes are exactly what I wanted and in great condition. Plus having the pedal box already mounted has again saved me a good bit of time and effort.

Can finally start getting other jobs out the way now while I wait for the kit to eventually come.

Have you got the full TCP now then? Had to remind myself what jit you were fitting and look back through the thread! 👍🏻
There’s few people going for the TCP, you, Jake has it fitted now, and Brett with the yellow fd. Probably more I’ve missed to lol

It's all paid for and boxed up, but I'm having problems getting due to COVID.
Yeah there's us 3, then a couple others who have/are buying a variation of it who me and Brett have found through Instagram.

The good thing is even though we all have TCP kits, I think all are different variations, so will all look slightly different.

Got some small updates on the dash, which I'm guessing will be finished in the next week.

Here are pictures of the Drakes parts I ordered after they had been sanded down from my awful DIY attempt at flocking them 😂

This picture is how it currently stands. I am having all these parts glued in so they won't be able to be removed, but that's no problem for me and shouldn't cause any problems down the line.

Also have finally ordered an NRG slimline hub, NRG quick release gen 2.8, OBP pedal box master cylinder cover and some weld in seat rails from Custom Cages so hopefully in December, I can get my seats mounted, dash installed and steering wheel on and the interior will slowly start coming together.

Got an update from houseofflock who has been working wonders on the dash for the project. The carbon bits will get fitted properly and secure tomorrow.

I cannot wait to collect and get this fitted in the shell with the steering wheel and quick release, should look epic!!
