4th Nov, FD:OC Dyno Day with Rotor Torque

Dean's is an '02 type R Bathurst also, but is on a PFC, so probably won't be that similar.

I've got ignition and solenoid issues, all of which should be fixed tonight....Assuming Parcelforce deliver today :D. Mine also has a K&N filter dropped in now, if it makes less than 280PS I wont be happy haha. Will the ratio change make much difference on the dyno? I assumed it wouldn't, but now I think about it I'm not sure!

Yes, Mine is 2002 Bathtub R with PFC ECU, Apexi Intakes, HKS Header and RB Rear Cat Back. Super7 told me they had it at 310bhp so i'm really keen to see if that is still the case.
Mine also has 4 very broken suspensions :(

It does not feel like 310 bhp thats for sure.... but the sponge suspension doesn't help the feel of the car at all.

Tell them what your ratio is and they should correct the dyno to suite.

I'm half tempted to just go for it and convoy down with you lol.

Yeah, go for it buddy! Would be good to check out your FD . It's an odd group of us this time, people from all over! Usually, it's more regional :D.

Do you really have issues though or are you just anal? My transition is definitely slower than it used to be but I'm not sure what is causing it.

Anyway, your 4th gear is likely no longer 1:1 given the higher final drive?

The K&N filter probably does jack shit, but the Dyno at Jam Sport is generous so I bet you end up around 300hp.

And it looks like your car and NoisyNelly will be the standard examples with his completely untouched. He never redlines it either so I'm curious to see how his 265ps model performs.

I've got 4 faulty solenoids in my pack and my HT leads are high enough resistance to need replacing, pretty sure they're the original ones, so no surprises there. Got a new pack and leads to fit later, may swap out the coils with my spare set too if they test better. Is the transition smoother than it used to be? Less of a sudden increase in power? Could be precontrol or the CRV.

Should be 1:1 still, it's only my 5th that's changed ratio in the box, so the output from the box will be the same, just the rear end will be different. I'll be going about 4mph slower at the red line compared to your 4.3 or 10.4 mph slower compared to a normal 4.1 FD.

Yeah will be good to see what they all make on the day (y).

Everything you guys talk about scares the crap out of me :(
I bet everything on my engine is old and ruined.

Dont worry about it man i'm sure your car is fine. On the plus side if someone is wrong there is gonna be plenty of people that can help you diagnose

You probably won't get more knowledgeable rotary guys in the same place in the foreseeable tbh.

It's just a larger dip, i.e. instead of 1.0 bar on the primary dipping to 0.8 bar and then shooting back up to 1.0 bar, it's more frequently happening that it is 1.0 bar on the primary down to 0.6 bar and back to 0.9-1.0 bar. It is much more prominent in 2nd and 3rd gear.

Sounds like the secondary isn't spooled when it kicks in, I'd be checking the CRV first as that's easy, then the precontrol system. If you need any bits I've got good spares of all of that (y).
