Anyone running wheel spacers with the stock RS/99 spec wheels? If so what size and did you need to roll the arches? Pics would also be good :)

Pretty sure they're et50 8j fronts and 8.5j rears like my SR rims arn't they? I'm running 15mm spacers all round, see the later pics in my build thread to gauge fitment. You could get away with running 20's and 25's, but I'd think that would need the arches rolled which I wasn't keen on.

Cheers mate. Yeah they definitely 8 / 8.5 and et50. Just had a look at pics and that is about the look I'm after don't want mega poke and don't want to roll arches.

I was on my phone last night or I'd have linked some pics to be more helpful. Here are a few in case anyone else is curious about spacers on OEM 17's. The RS, SR and RZ (Early and late styles) rims all have the same fitment. If you're lucky enough to have a 2002 r² with the 9j oem rims, then obviously your fitment will be a bit different.

Before, super sunken oem fitment:

And after with 15mm spacers on the front and rear:

I did try 20/25 and 15/20, but it would have hit the arches under compression without a roll and I didn't want to roll my arches. I also had fresh paint at the time, so didn't want to risk throwing up any stones!

Awesome cheers @Ceylon (y)

Anyone have any recommendations for decent brand of spacers? Obviously want some good quality ones though since they are going to be holding the wheels on lol. Stance has never really been my forte.

@Mattfdoc has gone through more wheels than most! He may be able to help 👍🏻

Ha ha! Your right I have! Most of the big suspension brands do them but they are pretty costly, DM Motorsport do some and Driftworks do to. @Swanny_UK ran spacers with the stock wheels in those sizes so I’m sure he can tell you what he ran!

I'm pretty sure I was running 15 on the front and 20 on the back with stock 17" BBS's

Did you have to trim down the the stud or is there a recess in the back of the wheel ive been looking into gettng some 20mm ones

Always go bolt on, you won't need longer studs. Nearly all wheels have the recesses needed, pop a wheel off and have a look.

Don't you want the ones that bolt onto the hub then the wheels onto the spacer? like these.

Am i right in thinking torque spec for the spacer to the hub should just be the factory mazda wheel recommendation?

I don't have any recess on the back of my wheels😔 but i need to run 20-25mm so shouldn't have any thread poking out

Is that sat at a stock ride height or has it been lowered on the DFVs, Tom? I am thinking of lowering by 15mm all round with RSR Down springs on OEM style shocks. Would want to follow that spacer setup myself too, looks good. (y)

All those shots are after fitting the DFV's, so quite a lot lower than it would be on the oem suspension, I'd guess a good 20mm if not more (y).

Cheers Tom. Are your ARB drop links still stock as well? Any rolling required on your arches on the current setup?
