I've been to see Pip up at WGT Auto Developments a number of times and I can't fault the guys there in any way, shape, or form. Absolutely superb work and they know their stuff with rotaries.

I totally agree with this when I was getting my fd back on the road they were great kept me informed what they were doing and rang me before they changed any parts kept me up to date on costs i can't fault them at all defiantly worth every penny I've spent there so far

Pip is great really knows his stuff very helpful, done me quite a few favours, but boy he made me pay for them when I wanted some work doing! very expensive! But to be fair, knowledge wise you get what you pay for. Just something to be aware of for new customers/members. (y)

I had my engine rebuilt last year by Pip and I can't fault his knowledge or work. I do agree with Joe though the bill wasn't cheap but you can't have everything!

Had my FD mapped yesterday and also some fault finding with secondary turbo loss. Pip is a super guy and found 2 solenoids were toast in my solenoid pack. Car is totally different to drive now ! One very happy customer (y)

Quality knowledge and cheap, rarely come together. When you look at the total costs of many of these places they often work out less than a cheap garage, how often do we hear stories of cars being "fixed", only for them to end up back at garage with the same issue 2 weeks later.

I've used pip for over 15yrs forall my engine rebuilds and tuning on the FD. A massive wealth of knowledge. He is always busy and is doing more interesting stuff too every time you go (more proper race cars).

quality knowledge for sure but defenitly not cheap, but you get what you pay for with these, Pip did my single turbo conversion my bill almost doubled from what original estimate was.
saying that i would use them again

I've just got my car back from them, Pip obviously has a wealth of knowledge! Came out with a fresh engine, street-port, injectors, v-mount, battery relocate, suspension, a respray and probably a few other things I've forgotten about already :)

I can't fault them on anything, regardless of how expensive they are they gave me a rough estimate on arrival and kept me in the loop with progress and gave me options to improve and what the additional cost would be, all of which I made the decision on.

Also credit to their painter friend Paul Dobson, I just went for a basic respray, excellent work for the money and a few added touches FOC that I wasn't expecting.

All in all I'm happy with the work done, car feels solid, running the car in this week before the final tune up on Friday.

Not such a happy experience here.

Very expensive.

Didn't spot a gasket issue on the intake. When you could hear it
Mapped the car but didn't change the default timing values and also cannot map a car over 1 bar.

I'd not bother going to him again.

I agree massively with @GAVBEY and @Nas80 you are spot on👍. He is very expensive.... he even charges 10p or so for nuts and bolts that he uses in your fd.

i would say he choices not to map over a bar, not that he cant, ive known him to map higher on his own car aswel as matts, at the end of the day, most people go to him for builds etc and hes just trying to protect your investment, as for charging for little things so he should, if i go anywhere else they will add it to the bill, they just wont itemise it like pip does but you will still pay.

Pip sourced me a brand new engine, parted out 2k of my old parts to help me cover costs, very friendly and full of knowledge, while waiting for the engine to arrive from japan i went single turbo also, new fuel system, new clutch and flywheel, i went the full 9 yards, he kept me up to date at all times with regards to prices and deadlines, will always use pip in the future, you get what you pay for

"You get what you pay for._

No mate at WGT you get what you are given and you pay a minimum of 500 per visit. Everyone knows this.

In my case I got given a half arsed map with values all over the show and a timing table that was so retarded I'm amazed the engine wasn't spinning the opposite way....

But yea you carry on.

Let's be honest £75 + VAT for labour plus all sundries is not reasonable.

I got that price from 5 years ago mind

I wouldn't go back again as he's out of my budget range.

Now now children.....listen to what the man says!
