Wastegate control actuator rattle

I’m trying to troubleshoot a rattle when letting off, I’ve narrowed it down to the wastegate control actuator. I can literally feel it chattering when the engine is running.
I also have no secondary turbo changeover and no boost on the primary after changing gear
The turbos were fully reconditioned just before I bought the car.
They are still under warranty at this point. I’d like to know if any of you have any ideas before I take them off?

I expect the c clip has fell off one of the actuators. If you look at the turbo pack from underneath. Iirc you will see the turbo control actuator (biggest one) and the wg control and pre- control actuators. They all have rods connecting them to their seperate ports. Just check they are all right and have the rods connected

All the rods are in place unfortunately mate. I’ll have to continue with diagnosis. This work in a similar fashion to our 35d engines so I’ll have a go at making a more simple diagnosis guide for everyone

Also check the charge control actuator above the turbos. It should pull in and push out when you turn the ign on and off.

This is solved, found that the wastegate actuator penny wasn’t fully closed and was chattering. Removed the actuator and tested, adjusted one turn. Fixed the rattle and boost issue

Yeah I thought I’d post it as there is nothing more annoying when someone gets the same issue and they need the answer 😂

Yep that's correct, good work solving it and posting the fix will help many others down the line.
