Trying to get my series 8 running correctly after the Apexi was stolen on Import. I have fitted a standard ECU but are having the following boost issues. These change following resetting of the ECU (battery off, battery on and idle for 10 mins)

- Boost Primary 0.5 bar / Secondary 0.5 bar
or
- Boost Primary 0.15 bar / Secondary .75 Bar

I have been over the car and have tested the black pressure box (good) and changed some lines that were getting old / brittle. I did find the check valve to the pressure box was split and have since repaired / tested this. Also cleaned all of the soldnoid plugs with contact cleaner and all of the wastegate valves etc have been checked for movement and lubed.

Am i missing anything?

You done koko test on ccv? Thats usually one to look at.
If you don't know what koko is have a Google lol

Control solonoids are not doing anything 0.5 is spring

Yeah that's my thoughts, maybe they also stole a boost controller?

Mod list and pic of the bay would help.

Just been out for another test. First pull I had 0.5 Bar on Primary and then it dropped back to 0.15 again. I can see the dip at 4000 rpm with full boost .75 coming on shortly after 4500 rpm.

Being 99 spec I did not find any pill in the wastegate lines that I was changing.

Photos attached of engine bay.

The boost pills (if they are there) wont be in the rubber lines, they will be in the nipples on the front compressor housing

I have had 99’s without the later spec turbos its not a given.so look at diameter off compressor pipes and if they are big they made need the pills.

if its ok on second turbo then the flap in the exhaust manifold or on the ypipe may be stuck.
Can you hear a boost leak at all?

I figured they are N3G1 turbos from his chassis number. Could always have been swapped out but very rare to see that happen in Japan.

I only say it as i had a customer on a w plate with early turbos.stock engine

The fault finding continues. ECU has thrown up code 32 Secondary Air Switch, Code 46 Charge Relief & Code 17 O2 Sensor

Turn the key on/key off and watch the charge control actuator move.

If it doesn't it's either stuck or a hose to it is leaking.

Other than that the flap it operates may have disconnected somehow.

so it looks likes the black box is playing up and the charge control soldnoid has very high resistance. I have decided to bite the bullet and replace the black box with a new factory mazda unit. It will hopefully cure all and give me some spares for the future.

well new black box is in and all of the old hard brittle lines have been replaced.
but still not playing the game.
By chance would anyone have a detailed photos of the lines . connections from the wastegate control solenoid and the pre control solenoid to the small 5 line manifold. I need to ensure this is hooked up correctly.
