Hello,

Has anyone attempted to refurbish any interior plastics (center console, radio surrounding).

There's a few marks and scratches on my trim so I want to tidy it up.

What products have people used to try and get the OEM look? I am also interested if people have attempted the later spec grey colour.

Thanks
Alex

Came across these threads on RX7 Club about this a while ago and it looked like they had quite a bit of success using stuff from Dupli-Color.
Interior Plastics using bumper paint
Interior Vinyl using Vinyl & Cloth Coating

Haven't tried this on mine yet but it's on my list to do.
Don't know how good it is at deep scratches as I've got a couple on my gauge cluster surround i want to get out too.

I'm sure others will have first hand experience with other products.

I used plasti dip. Worked really well

I’ve used u-pol Plastx with good results to replicate plastic finish. They do a fine finish or a coarse finish to help match most plastics.

Thats a piece of mdf I used Plastx on to replicate a plastic finish recently. The picture is before lacquer so came up a bit shinier when I top coated it.

Awesome stuff, I'll have to check it out.

The dupli color stuff looks good but doesn't look to be a UK product.......

Used plasti-dip as well. Plenty of light coats. Leaves a textured finish similar to later models. Done the dome, dash, heating controls, radio surround, centre console, ashtray, and arm rests.

I need to do this soon so very interested on what products to use.

Mine need sanding

My can of plasti-dip arrived earlier so I just quickly did the ash tray and thought I'd show the results.

Pretty happy with the results as I only had 60 grit paper and wirewool.

Looks good! Decent texture to it. Does it seem like it will handle bumps/scratches etc?

although.....that bumper trim paint looks to be the ticket when it comes to endurable finishes
