Passenger foot rest - How do I install it?

I received my foot rest and fire extinguisher mount from Sake Bomb garage the other day. They both look very nice although I'm sure the foot rest finish will get marred after the first pair of shoes come into contact with it, but no big deal. However, I'm not sure how I should install it looking at it now. I guess there are holes in the floor for it to fit since it is supposed to be a copy of the Spirit R and RZ foot rests, but then I guess that also means I need to make 4 holes in the carpet.

Ceylon, what did you do?

Also, with respect to the fire extinguisher. What kind should I buy and from where?

My car has a factory footrest and I believe there are holes in the carpet but I can double check, also the finish on mine has not really worn in 20 odd years of use so should be ok!
Interested to see how/where that fire extinguisher bracket mounts, does it bolt on the front of the seat? or footrest?

I might be wrong but I thought that RZ, RSR and Spirit Rs has threaded holes in the floor for them as well.

This^^^^^^^ i would expect some solid mounting by means of threaded holes. If your on the limit your passengers feet will be pushing pretty hard on that thing.

I would guess there are holes under the carpet already but my carpet itself doesn't have holes in it for the footrest. Hence, why I'm trying to figure out where they are so I know where I need to destroy my carpet.

The finish on this one is nice but already has marks on the front side so it will mar for sure...similar to how our clutch and brake pedals mar from our feet touching them all the time. I don't mind so much as the point of the foot rest is not so much for looks but for passengers on track days. I have been a passenger in my FD with no footrest and there isn't much to brace onto except the shitty door handle that feels like it will snap off (and that I tell people not to pull on).

I seem to be missing things from the Sake Bomb fire extinguisher bracket...Maybe I'm wrong and a fire extinguisher will magically have a bracket that actually fits with this thing.

Did you get this fitted? I can't seem to line mine up with the studs on the bulkhead- does it need the bulkhead drilling?

You have to drill into the floor. I decided I don't want to do that so I'm selling mine.

There are none down there unless your car as one of the models that came with the footrest.

I'd say use rivnuts.
Ok. Just wondered if it was meant to line up with any of the studs on the bulkhead for the heater matrix. If not I will get drilling.

Cut the tabs off and Velcro strips to both edges full width. Saves drilling the floor pan.
