That's right... the NEC is only really 45mins away for me, although I shall still be in a hotel during the event.
The organisers will sort the insurance out for a fee.. Not sure what it is yet but cant imagine it will be a lot. only to cover 4 days.

There is plenty to do and see there. You don't have to stay with your car all weekend. You don't even have to be there at all if you don't want to.
Park your car up and go home lol ...

Thank you for stepping up for this. I have done Sporting Bears Dream Rides at thre NEC over a few years with the FD and a Clio V6

I love the classic car show! I go every year and always note the lack of FDs.

I think mine is a bit too rough to display at an event like this. Maybe if I ever get it painted and tidyed up I'll think about it!

So Insurance will be around £80 for the event... and we can get them to lay carpet on our stand space too at a price.
Wont find out if we are approved for the show until around May lol

Getting a rota set up so the stand is always manned by a couple of people would be useful.

If the stand is there to raise the profile of the FD and FDOC then the stand being deserted would not look to good.

Having a couple of people on the stand means that someone can go off for a look around, get some food and drink or whatever without leaving the stand and cars deserted.

I need to commit to a few things before next Thursday.
One of the things we need to sort out will be the Insurance. I will also work out how many cars can fit on the stand so we can agree who will actually attend the stand with their car.
They also want us to promote the Event on the Forum Etc, which I will need help with

Stand can hold 4 Cars Max really... I have tried a few different layouts... One being the below

'90-'95 close to stock car.
'96-'98 close to stock car.
'99+ close to stock car.
Heavily modified FD.

That'd give all the main variants of FD's and make for some rather cool photos .

This sounds Perfect, mine being the 99 Car

I'll leave people to have a think over the weekend as we need to commit before Thursday next week

Probably not practical / possible especially given this is an FD specific forum, but would be cool to have an FB, FC, FD as stock as possible with the fourth car being a heavily modified FD.

Good Day to you all

So, I need to start getting real and book this in 100% for this week, or Leave it be and not bother with the event.

Are there 3 people here that would like to commit to doing this show?
It will mean you need to be at the NEC on the Thursday to set up and clean down your car on the stand, and leave it there until Sunday PM.

Costs so far for the event are £80 for insurance. I anticipate costs for Carpeting the stand as well as any Merch we need, like flags and Signs etc.
I shall be there all weekend, staying in a hotel near the NEC.

The stand needs to be manned at all times (I think) so if there are 4 of us there in total, I cant see this being an issue.
I shall bring camp equipment like a table and chairs etc to try and make it as comfortable as possible for the weekend.
Will also bring a box of beer! lol

I have until Thursday to lock this in with the organisers otherwise they will allocate our space to someone else.

If anyone really fancies doing this show for the weekend please get in touch ASAP.

unfortunately i can't commit to this now but having a 99 spec RS i'm sure a couple others can fill that gap

Not sure if @Matt sorted the public liability insurance already that would cover this?

The event sounds great but I personally don't fancy committing all that time for it
