Has anyone mounted a seat direct to the floor pan?

I've bought a Kirkey layback seat and want it nice and low so was going to do away with the stock rails.

I'm guessing drill the floor, use some chunky M10 bolts and some 5mm plate to spread the load? Thinking of adding a back brace too.

Couple of considerations.

The FD floorpan isn't flat.
You'll likely want a slight back tilt on the seat to get the right position.

Custom rails would probably be your best best, if you can weld they should be strait forward to fab up (y).

My welding sucks but is good enough for spots so I can take it to a fabricator.

20x10 box section should be strong enough?
