Mazda Dartford HQ Rotary Day 7/7/2018

Hey everyone,

I have been in touch with Mazda HQ about replicating a Mazda Day or a Rotary Day at their headquarters in Dartford. At the moment there are no plans to replicate the event this year since no one has reached out yet, but they have told me they are happy to use their showroom and Mazda Rotary Heritage fleet so let's see if we can figure something out. Now, I'm not sure what they require yet but I could guess a decent amount of attendance will be a factor so it might make sense to open this opportunity up to the Facebook page and the RX-8 Owner's Club to ensure we get enough numbers to entice Mazda HQ to put on an event and gather their rotary cars in their showroom.

What's the best month of the year to try to do this, keeping in mind we are already at the end of March and they will likely need time to prepare?

July, August September?

Also, I would plan on trying to book a day before or after a track day at Brand's Hatch which is just 15 minutes down the road from the HQ, and make this event a fun weekend and worthwhile trip for those travelling from afar.

I am glad to report that the Mazda HQ wants to do an event this year if the timings can work out. They recognise that this year is the 40th anniversary of the first RX7 from 1978 and they would like to do an event around the month of that anniversary. Can anyone tell me the month that would be?

I also suggested 7s day on 7th July as an alternative date.

Given it's shaping up to be a RX-7 anniversary event I think it is appropriate to open the event up to the RX7FB club and any FC owners as well once we have a bit more solidity.

There is not yet an agreement on catering, activities and potential ticket prices to help fund the event but I'll keep you updated and I hope many of you would be excited to participate and make this a hell of a day.
