info/threads from the other forum

is there a way we can get the good info threads saved and posted here. there will be soooo much good info lost. and also build threads, which is basically, im my case, the cars history for the last 10 years.

Unless its manually moved over it won't be replicated here. I know its a PITA to paste it over but web scraping content from another website automatically (especially one behind a login) is ethically and possibly legally wrong.

On the plus side if you upload all your pictures here they won't go down

That said providing a way for users to pull their posts over, ignoring other user's posts, wouldn't be wrong. This would be a big benefit for people's build threads of nothing else.

Unfortunately it would but a nightmare to code something so bespoke and would take longer than users copying and pasting over.

The script would need to log in > visit a users profile > find all users topics > copy all the content > log user into this site > paste content in the relevant forum (mapping of forums would need to be configured.)

Even if you could get that working how does the script determine if your posts are a reply to someone or part of your build thread, it could potentially create a bit of a mess.

I know its not ideal but there's not an easy solution
