So, before I begin this upgrade shall we call it, I have done a lot to my car but haven't peaked inside the tank yet. I'm almost finished my build and thinking forward to dyno day, I want to install a slightly larger but more reliable fuel pump. Will be on stock twins with mild Era street port.
My question is what fuel pump do people recommend and do I need to worry about fuel pressures in stock lines if I upgrade the pump? Is it plug and play. Like I said I'm forward leaning at the moment and just looking for advice and help.

Many thanks men!

Stock fuel pump makes over 400hp. It has been tried by a reputable rotary specialist.

Thats what I have heard really...so better save your money.

Many use the bosch 044 pump for a solid reliable upgrade which will flow more than enough. That said there are many other good alternatives around with walbro being popular as always. Just make sure you get genuine with walbro as fakes are very common.

I would recommend getting a fpr along with your chosen pump also so a tuner can adjust your pressure to suit. This can help to ease demand in your injectors along with tuning requirements.

Braided lines, fittings etc are nice but far from essential. Also if you go for bigger injectors and fuel rails you will likely change those fuel lines then. For a tuned twin turbo a pump and fpr will do the job. To go single you will want rails and injectors.

Changing the pump alone will not alter the fuel pressure in anyway.

I have a Supra fuel pump, I forget its exact specs but flows a lot more than an FD pump.

Which specialist? And saving your money for what?

The fuel system is one of the major causes of engines going bang, it's not the place where you save money.

I dont care about it being loud, if anything adds to the racecar vibe. But if i stivk thiswalbro 450 in it do i need a fuel pressure regulator?

I've got a walbro GTS450 and it isn't too noisy at all. The car has an FPR as standard.

I took my GST450 out, they pull a fair bit of current so you'll want to upgrade all the wiring back there. Run a relayed feed straight from the battery.

Stu recommended one of these to me, I've got it installed at the moment but haven't run with it yet. 300lph at 60psi line pressure, should be plenty for most people. Pretty quiet too.

Not bad for £80 sheets!

They do pull a fair amount of current ive had to readjust my idle and wire it for a better feed but i just did the circuit relay mod with a different power source and im going to rewire the fuel pump hanger with thicker wires
