Harnesses - how are you fitting yours?

Every car I've bought in the past has come with harnesses, so I'm lacking in knowledge in this area. I want to sort some harnesses out, but not sure what to go for and how to safely install them. There seems to be wrap around harnesses, clip in, bolt in, some that require a holes in the floor, others that mount to the seat/seat frame. Then what do you attach the shoulder harnesses to? Wrap around the rear strut brace (I do recall someone saying that's a bad idea?)

I've got a pair of 3" TRS harnesses with wrap around should straps and clip in lap belt. However I think that will require drilling into the floor to insert eyelets for them to clip in to. Not 100% keen on that though? Or any I worrying about nothing? Decent spreader plates and I'm ok? Or an I better off getting some bolt in belts that can attach to the original seat belt mountings? (ideally I'd like to retain the OEM seat belts but I'm not too fussed about this)

TIA

You can just buy eyebolts that will screw into your original belt/buckle fixing holes. No need to drill and tap or weld in plates.

Yo dude.
I think i seen somewhere that the harness mount must be same height as your shoulders? i could be wrong.

Ive seen and have done myself harnesses on the rear strut tower brace however i wouldn't recommend if its the stock brace. that shiz would hit you in the back of the head in a crash

I used the stock seats and harness through the loop when i crashed on track. only about 80mph into gravel trap and a bump off the tyres but from that point on wards i would defiantly recommend some sort of aftermarket bucket seats if your using harnesses IMO.

and like you have 3" harnesses for the win. although stock seatbelts are ace if you do long distance.

Thanks all. Jonnie, those ones need to be mounted somewhere, ie through the floor I think :/

I've found these, look like they bolt to the original seatbelt mounts and then give you something to clip on to. Would make removal easy too

The eyebolts replace your current seat belt bolts in the floor, the treads are already there.
Here is a crap google pic;

ive just installed mine using original seat belt holes in floor, also watched a video on youtube how to properly wrap round the harsness straps to a proper harness bar do not use standard strut bar.
