I have decided to give the cars suspension an overall this winter, So thinking new coilovers and bushes.

(The car is only ever going to be used for fast road use if that helps with any advice)

I am thinking HSD Dualtech's and I have seen them new on ebay including postage for £615, which I think seems decent so anybody's feedback on these or links to a better deal would be awesome. The other option I am considering is BC Racing BR (RS) Series which are a little more at about £690 ish but if they are way better I am happy to go with those links to cheaper deals on these would be great, but again if anybody has any other options they have experience of in this sort of price range let me know.

Bushes wise I have read that the Super Pro's are the better option (happy for people to correct me on that), but I am unsure of what exactly I need as they do a kit for front and rear but will I need to replace anything else? any links and expected prices for these would a massive help too.

Cheers in advance

I've had hsd mono pro which are a step up from dual tech. Good suspension.

Fez bought the bcs for his and they are pretty good too and same goes for the Tien super streets I use now (got Tiens cos I plan to run edfc)

Get the bc they are very reasonably priced.

I can only recommend meisters and along with many of they popular tuners find these the best for uk roads. Easy uk supplier with great customer support so can easy set them up how you want them.

I went new oem mazda. Done poly bush before its crashtastic. Granted it was on a different car though.

Yes mate, i found them really crashy on my 96 spec itr with the small 15s and vowed, never again!!!. With that said loads of fd people use them and are happy with the ride. I guess it depends on what and where your using them and with what suspension. On my country roads they were unsettling at best. I much prefer the oem mazda and i too have 17s and won't be changing to
18s again until bbk demand it.

How much was it for a replacement set of bushes from mazda?

got the bc’s On mine and I think they’re pretty good, good quality and nice to drive. I’ve not tested the others but saw that some expensive builds by people who knew what they were doing used them so said good enough for me. Good balance between performance and price.

I did 1k miles around Wales. But I had hsd mono pro and the car was a bit too low, when we got to the Evo triangle there's one road there, looks smooth but bloody ell I was wondering if my car was gonna fall apart. I couldn't be assed getting out and softening the suspension so me and another lad who has an M3 convertible decided to head back to the air BnB. But aside that the other 900 miles the car felt great but Wales has pretty good roads tbf

On an FD it's not so bad really. I think a lot of the crashy feel is down to how hard you set the suspension. On my new setup I haven't got it so low or so stiff and it's actually pretty compliant.

Unless you drive in anywhere ran by kirklees council cos you hit a bump in any car even a big 4x4 it's like you drove over a flipping IED.

I run my meisters on full soft on the road at all times. It's very good and soaks up the knocks and bumps well. On a bone dry track i will go full hard -4 rear and full hard-2 front. Obviously this changes massively for a wet/damp track.

Yes super pro are the ones to go for. The full kit doesn't include one pair of bushes it's the lower rear one, I can't remember the exact name. Think kit is about £4/500 ish

Then you'll need 6 pillow balls also which will set you back another like £400

Coilovers wise I think the £700 sets are all much of a muchness. If you want a good set then go for online at like £2k. I have HSD mono pros and have no compliants
