FD eccentric lock washers for the LCA camber bolts: GB interest thread

Do you still have any of these left? I'm assuming the cost will be a bit more now post-Brexit.

Hi jack.am,

Yes I still have some sets left. Post-Brexit the total shipped price remains the same.

I've been looking into this information from the UK govt https://www.gov.uk/guidance/vat-and-overseas-goods-sold-directly-to-customers-in-the-uk and it seems that anything valued under 135GBP should be fine to send without additional VAT and customs fees.

I have shipped out multiple lock washers sets to the UK post Brexit without any issues. A few members here have already received their orders.

Feel free to send me a PM on here.

Regards,

Matt

Sorry I'm just not getting this.

Can you please explain the benefits of this product over the OEM solution.

As far as I can see, you're trying to reduce the bolt slipping and knock out the calibrated alignment settings.
However unless you weld the outer sprocket to the subframe (thus permanently fixing alignment settings - which I wouldn't have thought would be the best idea anyway) these are still going to get knocked and misaligned, in the event of .e.g. a pot hole (UK things)

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the comment.

If you look closely at the "U horseshoe" alignment guide on the FD subframe you will notice it has two opposing flat walls (marked in red) connected by the U shape. The outer lock washer (or sprocket as you called it) sits tightly against these flat "walls" and this prevents the outer washer from any left-right movement and also prevents any rotational movement. (The outer lock washer also has matching flat sides which align against the U horseshoe guide perfectly)

Here is a video I made which shows the difference between the OEM washer and the Lock Washer. The point of the video is to show that even without a nut torqued down on the bolt, the bolt quite snugly sits in its place and its movement is restricted precisely due to the lock washer. The benefit over the OEM solution is that once you have the lock washer in place and the nut torqued down you can rest assured that even after prolonged track driving, hitting pot holes etc. your alignment bolts position remains unchanged.

There is no need to weld the outer washer to the subframe (but for those who never change their alignment settings that is also an option).

I hope this clears things up a bit.

Hi Matt,

Do you still have the FD eccentric lock washers available? If you do I am after the early D shape set.

I was just looking in to these too, following links etc from the earlier posts, it appears JP3MOTORSPORTS sell both the "H" and "D" Eccentric Washers. 👍

I ordered the small battery tray from JP3 it arrived very quickly and it’s excellent quality. Just to give some feedback on JP3.
