Before I order the FL22, is there anything I can get off the shelf in say.. Halfords, gsf, euros?

Cheers 👍🏼

Sorry I don't have an answer for you but listening in on the thread as I too need to do a coolant flush

Any blue stuff
Not gonna lie when I was at BMW I used BMW blue in my old car, never had any issues at all.

Only reason I've gone FL22 is I ran out of BMW coolant, don't work there so it's not free anymore, and the car had a rebuild before I got it so may as well be all by the book lol

I'm sure the bloke at mazda told my FL22 supercedes to the later style coolant anyway, I'm sure the old stuff didn't have ethylene glycol in it. I've always used blue antifreeze 50/50 mix with deionised water, I change it every 2 years sonce 2005, not had any problems touch wood. That's what the bloke at rotecnics told me to do and he rebuilt the engine for me.

Tbh - apart from keeping the guys happy as they’re the ones who built the engine, anything older in reality will use the same sorta coolant regardless of brand. As long as you don’t use pink, purple, yellow and you use ethelyne glycol (green) half the time they add the colour on spurious stuff. Main difference is the life of the internal seals one will harm the other system etc. it’s just easier to use fl22 cause it might have magic substances that prolong the life of the engine 😂
