Spoke to the wife and I’m game 😝🤘 is nr travelling from Portsmouth if anyone wants to convoy

I may be up for this just to check the health of the new engine. Would be interesting to see what it makes in standard form compared to previously.

All depends on whether I get it on a dyno before then (hoping to leech onto the end of a friends mapping session at the end of the month). When do you need to get confirmation by?

We are checking the dates but to make this a worthwhile day we will need at least 15 people if we want to keep the price per person reasonable.

Might have some other people interested in doing a power run in non fd cars if that helps.

So, we can definitely grab the 26th of October for the Dyno day but we need to try to get to as close to 15 cars as we can.

It will be a Run What Ya Brung Dyno shootout format with no hooking up for AFR or boost. Any mapping agreed with Stu and Jaydee will occur after the shootout at the end of the day where there will be logging to get you map right, but that is separate to the shootout.

3 runs per car.

No data logging by the Dyno operator. If we notice something not right with the car before or as it is put on the rollers it won't be run regardless of what you want.

Pricing will be similar to last year. £40 per person if we get close to 15 people and a £20 deposit that is refundable up until one week prior to the event.

Details to follow tonight with my PayPal address and posts to Facebook pages.

See first post.

I'd normally be up for this.. But both my FD and my daily have engine failure, needing full rebuilds .

I didn't realise boost/AFR wouldn't be monitored for the power runs. That's the main reason I want to get it on the dyno, so for that reason am oot

Hopefully I'll make it to a dyno day in the future though, once I know my car is healthy

This can be monitored if you are there for mapping at the end of the day. This is the instruction I have been given by the dyno operator as they are looking to avoid liability naturally if something doesn't go right with the car itself on the rollers. That's why there is no logging or tuning as part of the shootout. It's your responsibility as an owner participating to bring a car that is 100%. A shootout is not designed to be a diagnostic session for your vehicle as there are too many cars to get through.

Having said that, we know of quite a few owners that would like the chance to optimise their tunes and/or finish their maps and that is why we are offering mapping and tuning in the afternoon after the shootout completes.
