Colour change

Looking for some inspiration, what colour is your rx7? mine is montinegro blue but want to get it resprayed.
Lets get some pictures up.

I know thats the colour it is now but have a ronnin spoiler large duck tail and want to have it a different colour

Yeah have it resprayed in montego blue, montenegro blue has a bit too much brown in it!

Sorry you can't comment with your history. Not only that, who has a black car and a red engine bay? Its as bad as having a yellow car and a white engine bay

Mines blue, it looks pretty good I guess.

But if I was gonna respray I would go like midnight purple, or yellow is always good. Either that or just something ridiculous like this

Recently resprayed in Midnight Purple, its pretty expensive paint but worth it. Montego blue is definitely the best OE colour but i still love PZ Black

Mines blue, it looks pretty good I guess.

But if I was gonna respray I would go like midnight purple, or yellow is always good. Either that or just something ridiculous like this

Once I get my respray sorted I think I'm going to have to get it wrapped in that sort of colour, totally up my street!

I now own (for just over a year the other day) the car on the right in this pic, It's still red with a now fully black roof, including A pillars lol. For now anyway...


I love blue on cars in general and Montego is beautiful, I'm gonna get mine in fresh factory red all over at some point, I would love to go blue lol, but won't changing colour de-value a car to some point?

The lights and brackets came with when i imported from japan. The light units are 2 sets from honda NC30 motorcycle, they have a flat beam pattern with no ramp. Ive yet to drive at night to see what theyre like as ive put led bulbs in. The better option might be the hella units from concept 7 you mentioned, i ran mine with normal halogen bulb before respray and they were only slightly better than the glowworm stock pop-ups haha.

And yeah man It's had some work lol, biggest changes are It's on ohlins, hybrid twins, bushes/balls are new/good and the engine has all it's ancillaries torqued up now....(why I do not rate RXmotors say the least) Plust a lot of other stuff too.... should really start a thread for it now.

I don’t know, I kinda like it. It feels like most sports cars are pumped out in boring colours.

Taking Porsche as an example, out of the 3700 odd cars on autotrader over 1000 are black, almost 1200 are grey or silver, and another 500 are white, that leaves 1000 in potential non boring colours of which 500 are blue and a large percentage of those are super dark blue which may as well be black unless in direct sunlight!

I don’t know what my point is, but I just wish there were more people ordering obnoxiously coloured sports cars so many years later I can buy them second hand!
