Cadwell park 12th june,

I'd be tempted by a track day, but not sure the fear of stacking it would take over.....
I'm too afraid to park the car in a public car park for the fear of someone dinging it, let alone fly around a track with a load of novices (myself included).

I know not everyone would be a novice, but think I've just watched too many videos of people crashing on track days.. would want to die if I did the same 🤦🏽‍♀️

Done a track day last month going to the ring this month and we have got the rotary track day with FDOC in July, may try and get one more
in after July, you dont see a lot of them on track, mine is not a show car it is used for weekend fun and a few track days a year.

@GrantFD Have you seen the rotary track day, a pretty safe track with a lot of experienced drivers, you can drive around as slow as me
and still have loads of fun.

I don't like leaving mine in public car parks but trackdays you are in control of your car at all times. At every event I've been to the chances of someone totalling you are slim to none tbh. Anycase that's what your cheap track insurance is for.

Got to use them mate, and you will never push it like it should be on the road. The only place you can really start feeling the limits of your set up is on a circuit.

I know it's not everyone's bag but just seem to remember more interest in trackdays in the years gone by.

I fully expected the rotary blyton day to fill within the first month.

Yea I saw that, but it's like a 4 hour drive for me to get there.. otherwise I probably would have given it a go...

I always thought track day insurance would cost a bomb? How much on average is it?

i do a few trackdays a year in my Renault 5 i share with my brother, taking it to nurburgring in july.
I wouldnt mind too much tracking the 7 but it would need a few bits first for me to enjoy it fully.
Just gaining the experience in a tin-top that can be replaced easily at the moment.

Maybe another factor is that there's no local tracks for most Fd owners (at a guess) and dont want the 2hr drive or such to their nearest track, just a thought.
I may pluck up the courage next year to do a trackday or 2 in the 7. £150 is a pretty good price btw.

I mostly need to be careful to pick a track with a decent noise limit :D
I'm looking to book one soon, so will look at if I can make this one

Ok that's cadwell booked, really really looking forward to this one as supposed to be possibly the finest and challenging track in the uk. The uk's mini nurburgring 🏎

Its gonna be wet by the looks of it!!!. I'll get plenty of pics hopefully and update through the day. The uk widowmaker in the rain is pretty daunting tbh.

Great track Cadwell. I was always nervous of doing it if slippery, but was fine (driving there on the ice at 0deg was the scariest bit). Was really quiet too, no-one seemed to want to go out on track in the wet/damp. No garages is an issue if raining, I took a pop up tent to store all my gear in.

Great day at cadwell, really started to get a handle on it later on but what a circuit. Not gonna do that shit in one day again though. Left the house at 4.30am and arrived home ruined at 7.30pm. Doing the same in our audi would be tiring but in my fd is a killer
