Break in after rebuild and mapping

A dyno has caused me to need a rebuild. So decided to get a street port and a few other upgrades. Wondering what people do to break in the engine and at what stage do you get it mapped?

Depends on the guidance from your engine builder normally and what's been replaced in your engine. I've always done 1000miles no boost with a few mineral oil changes during.

Think mine did about 400 mile. Then it was on the dyno and back to trackdays.

Recommended about is 500 mile low rpm off boost then just start increasing revs gradually up to flat out up to 1k miles.

Something like that.

With my full rebuild with new bearings I'll just let it idle for 20-30 mins while I check pressures, temps, levels and for leaks. Then take it for a gentle shakedown drive to ensure all is in order then it'll be straight into boost. I really don't understand the run in superstitions with rotaries. If everything is clearanced correctly it just works. The bearings wear in within minutes. I'll do an earlier than normal oil change as I don't really want bits of bearings floating around for longer than nessisary, otherwise it'll be business as usual.

I build my own motors so that's fine for me. If yours is being built by someone else, follow whatever they advise to preserve your warranty.

Thanks. I'll follow the builders advice so I can keep the warranty.
It will be a year before mapping with the amount of miles I do lol

500 miles, under 4k revs no or little boost..... change oil.
repeat for another 500 miles..... change oil

RAG THE F OUT OF IT.... :)
