THESE GUYS ARE RATHER GOOD!

I picked up on them after reading a brake caliper thread on here.

Anyways.
Ordered a few bits off them. Amazing communication. Easy to use web site. Fast shipping.

They even have arch liners people seem to lust for, which are on their way to me now for far less than what I've seen average second hand ones go for

I can second that. I've spent thousands and thousands with them over the years and they've always given good service and sourced many parts Mazda UK will tell you are NLA.

It was you that put me onto them as it goes. Thanks!

The Mazda dealers near me seem to have bit of an attitude problem. So, this is a game changer for me

Yep they're a great source for parts. I'm afraid to add up what I've spent on my FD and Supra with them.

Supra got everything underneath replaced last year all bought with Amayama, that was a hefty bill!

What shipping method did you use Brian and was it all subject to VAT and Duty when it landed or did it manage to escape?

I've a fair order to make and want to price Mazda locally anyway

Depends on shipping method, FedEx or DHL will 99% of the time get caught in customs. I only use them for urgent cheap orders, arrives within a week to Ireland after shipping.

The alternative is the default shipping with EMS which is currently suspended because of covid that was usually up to a month delivery to Ireland but generally 2-3 weeks and never got caught in customs for me.

The only alternative now (at least a months or or so ago when I placed last order) is Japan surface mail, extremely slow but cheap, took roughly 3-4 months for my last order of some FD parts and Supra wiper arms to arrive again no customs charges, so basically avoid the big couriers if you want to avoid customs as its in their interest to flag it for inspection, they'll get their steep handling fee for every package that way.

I've always used EMS and same experience. Mate told me yesterday EMS is back up and running now too.

hi guys just wondering why you’d use Amayama instead of just ordering from a Mazda dealer if you’re going OEM?

ive just ordered some body panels from my local Mazda and even managed to get a discount just by asking.

I can't talk for everyone. But, I've tried with the dealer near me and they just don't want to know. Even when I've gone in with part numbers.

For instance they said the headlight lids are no longer available. Basically just telling you to fuck off at this stage

Happy to hear about FD friendly dealers i can use

Yeah exactly that. Mazda UK also cannot source a LOT of FD parts and will tell you they are NLA in Japan when they are not, they are just not available for export. Amayama gets around this.

If anyone has a couple of NLA parts I can check (test how lazy they are) if my local can get them.
Might be a good option to save on import duties.

ive just order some metal body panels, I’ll keep everyone updated.
Sorry to hi-jack this I’ll maybe set-up a different thread.

You won't save on import duty and VAT though, it'll just be included in the dealer prices.

Majority of the times the parts are 30% ish cheaper from Amayama but then if you get caught for import duty the price levels out a little, at least that's what I've found in Ireland and my local Mazda dealer.

This is what prompted my first question I didn’t know if amayama is just a last resort for those with lazy Mazda parts departments.

I just bought the following and a couple of other bits.

FDY171400C

Which is listed in amayama for £588 (not including delivery or fees), I paid £465 + vat from Mazda (I did ask for discount and they gave me 10%).

I’m hoping the dealer isn’t going to charge me anything additional and they didn’t mention anything about this, but we will see and I’ll report back.

Just been pricing up parts with them last week & emailed local mazda dealer with part numbers asking availability & prices, only parts mazda were cheaper was the dash demister vents.

Overall Amayama was almost £180 cheaper & that is assuming you get stung a 20% customs charge (£75) But not including postage which was about £35 but still £145 quid cheaper

I've paid no extra duty. I think it's included. I'll photo the invoices over the weekend

Nice (y)

I've bought a few of those parts from my mazda dealer, but I'm sure they weren't that expensive, I'll check through my emails and post back
