Thought some people might be interested. Pricing is obviously all in USD so I’m not sure how accurately it translates to a real world figure for the UK.

Not watched it as he's a muppet but if you fab everything yourself and don’t mind some bird shit welding, it'll be around 3 to 5k complete depending how lucky you are on finding parts! I'm about 3k in, not really keeping count on money as I just get bits from time to time. Easy done in a year but I've been slacking, also if you watch beytek, gav has the proper way of fitting a k20 in your bay by only ruining the subframe opposed to destroying your tunnel like most people do! At least you can replace a subframe easy enough if ever you decide to slap in a rotor motor again. Also just to add, I am a wanker, FACT!

Ha I just watched the vid. Fair play that guy is a gimp! 70k usd dropped into that build! Come on man, its just a fecking car at the end of the day! The whole point in k swapping a fd is to keep it cheap and drive it to the moon! Fuck it if you skimp out on parts and buy Chinese shit, if they work for a year and you gotta spend a tenner on more Chinese parts after a year of driving then so be it! No wonder the fd scene is full of over spending idiots these days! Stupid bloody clown!

I think if you are a regular person spending that sort of money is ridiculous. It’s different if you are a YouTuber though because the money made from all the videos the car was in will offset all of it.

it’s certainly not something I would do, because I don’t have the aptitude to do it myself and I sure as shit ain’t paying £50k/70k USD for that.

I will say though, yes I'm a little jealous and if I had plenty of money to blow then its certainly a great way to blow money!
Dont get me wrong i think its cool (not the colour) but a bit off-putting to people who want to have a go at doing an engine replacement whether it be a fd or anything else. Ita kinda why I like to point out gav. Hes probably paid half of what that guy has and gone from a k20 with a rx7 box with rx8 pull to push clutch to a BMW dct box. Hes spent the time to get it all in without having to cut out any part of the body of the car and made it work! Hes just at home in his garage sticking in the hours. Yes its time consuming but its doing it yourself. I understand the point of reliability issues, I'm expecting mine to have some when I eventually finish it but at the end of the day thats part of the fun and learning process. Its not a daily car, anyone using a fd as a daily these days I believe is insane purely because of 12 miles to gallon not to reliability issues as I think a stock fd with just the basic mods is just as reliable as anything on the road! Sorry for ranting and boring people lol

I don’t know how much he would earn. But they have almost 900k subscribers. I would have thought that’s a fair whack. It also takes the sting out of the cost of a project car because everything you do or anything that goes wrongcreates content which subsidies the cost of your passion.

Hell if I could create content from my cars and get paid from it I would. Problem is I’m a proper boring bastards so no fucker would care what I have to say!
