Evening all. It was suggested by a chap on FB the TGS dolphin exhaust might be a suitable substitute for the RE amemiya dolphin. Wondering if anyone has one, a tgs. Wondering how they find it and how it sounds. Pics welcome.
I plan on running it on a stock car with a upgraded downpipe and that's it. Open to downpipe suggestions as well, from what I've gleaned a ceramic coated one would be best.
Thanks.

I've got one, but it's 3.5" on single turbo so will be different to yours! Its a little too loud for me on current set up, still OK for track though.
I had it when on twins and it sounded pretty good. with a silence mid pipe, I'd imagine on a standard car it would sound pretty nice and be pretty quiet.

Craigs work is top notch and I wouldn't even consider paying for a RE-A one with all the shipping and taxes. Buying second hand is a little daft IMO too.

He also does an OEM style one that @Ceylon has, check out his website: https://tgsexhausts.co.uk/product-category/vehicle-manufacturers/mazda/rx7fd3/rx7-exhausts/

Pretty sure any 3.5” exhaust on a single is hard to keep quiet

All the TGS exhausts for the FD seem pretty loud. Mine with the rest of the system standard was still loud enough for everyone to cover their ears and wince on the dyno.

The titanium re-a dolphin is the best looking and sounding of the dolphins imo.

I have a 3 inch TGS dophin and midbox. Quieter than the 3.5 inch systems and certainty not too loud when not 100% throttle.

Oddly i find it much more refined now that I'm single turbo. When i was non-seq twins, I found it obnoxiously bassy and droney at low rpm.

Agreed re the RE exhaust, but I'm not sure they look double the money good. How do you find it for general driving about on tick over, bearable? The knight sports I currently have allows me to leave the pub carpark with out everyone diving for cover which I quite like.

obnoxiously bassy, not something I heard about these before I must admit. Is it bearable at tick over and round town driving or too much? I assume yours would be slightly louder than what I have planned as I would just have a upgraded downpipe and the back cat.
If you get a moment to through up a pic or two I'd love to see it on the car. In some shots to seems to hang out quite far in others perilously close to the rear bumper.
Thanks

Seemed to be a problem unique to my setup as never had that feedback from anyone else. Now that I'm single turbo, my current setup is great for town driving and is only really loud when I want it to be. Few pics as requested:

The TGS midpipe is great. Much bigger silencer than what I had previously, and keeps everything track day friendly. Also ran this with a Racing Beat previously, when on twins and was very friendly for town driving.

I've recently been running a 3.5 repackable system from tgs and I'm very impressed with the quality and tone. On idle it's around 88db and 100db at 5500rpm so perfect for track use, motorway is fine also with no bad droning. I've tried many exhausts on the car over the years and this is by far my favourite.

I keep thinking of a quieter system but my cars bright yellow with a body kit. May as well be loud too 🤣

Can't speak for Craig's exhaust but I have the RE-A Dolphin repacked with Acoustifil, a generic mid silencer also repacked with the same stuff. It's quieter than my previous Racing Beat dual.

Cheers for all the points and suggestions lads. I'm pleased to say I've ordered one and a HKS downpipe. First two mods for my car, stereo aside, to say I'm excited is a chuffing understatement. Looking forward to hearing those turbos abit better.
