Hello,

Thanks to several suggestions for donations I have set up a PayPal Money Pool to raise funds for FDOC to cover costs.

The goal is to raise £405 by 7/7/2019 from all members that use this site to square the club's finances, and those that want to keep it going as well as benefit from future developments to the site and external events.

There are no minimum or maximum contributions and it is anonymous if you decide to donate.

You can donate via this PayPal link:

Good idea to get the current deficit cleared before working out a way to fund the site in a sustainable way going forward. (y)

Straight up Member fee - Log in etc
Save the treats for next year

I still think a member fee is risky and could do more damage than good... its good to give unpaid members access to certain areas of the forum.

There are other ways of raising money towards the site rather than just demanding money to register.

To me it makes sense to have an optional member fee that includes a few perks like a sticker, lanyard and annually perhaps a calendar of @Luke Hardy and his lady friends...jokes, a calendar of the club's FD's though.

That way the site is accessible for everyone but if you want to contribute and benefit from some merch then we can arrange it that way. It just has to cover itself.

Only other club i have been in is the S2000 UK one.... Always paid £15 a year... got a sticker etc etc... nothing worth having though lol
At the end of the day, the people running this site have expenses to pay out to keep it running. If we want to use the site and benefit from being able to contact like minded people all on one very well presented website, I cant see the harm in being asked for a little bit of money each year.

i think its a great site, a lot of effort clearly goes in to maintaining it.. i would happily pay a membership, but they need to make sure they have enough support before doing so, otherwise the site could go very quiet very quickly.
The calendar is a very good idea...

Haha I think the fd calender is an awesome shout! @rob fd and @megatron would be more into lukes stuff though 😆 suits everyone 😎

My 2p,

Just a members section access to the rest for free members, maybe depending on how customisable the back end is, paid members get immediate access to new classifieds , free members wait 1 or 2 days? Bit of incentive.....

Paid an fduk fee even when the forum was rinsing my computer generating bit coins 🤣

Not doing bad

Happily donated, and happy to help with producing a club calendar, I've made a few which are all of the club cars sent in from the year running up to Christmas.

Having stats always visible, that shows percentage of costs covered, and number of users donated, would allow us to know if we will lose this great resource or not *cough* twitch.tv *cough* :)
