What fixed bucket seats and rails are people using in their FD's? Any pictures and specs would be great. I don't want anything that rubs and they have to be lower than stock. Fancy some brides but will consider anything that fits lol.

Cheers

I have a pole position on a Nagisa Auto rail. Touches the door card slightly but mega low, I’m 6ft

I had a Bride Zeig 3 and Bride rail, didn't touch door card or centre console, was lower than stock and could move further back too. I'm 6'2" and the seat was great and a good fit.

How chunky are you though. Pretty sure these aren’t 34”-36” friendly

I had pole positions and I widened them as they dig into my hip bones. All I did was heat the fibre glass with a small jack in between the sides of the seat. Fibre glass will move with heat I did it gradually over a couple of hours. Then I fit snug as a bug.

I keep wanting to try lotus seats, I had a set on my Mx5 and they gave me a lot more space

But not great for any high g-force cornering.

No not that good, but I was suprised, it wasn’t that bad. I would say they are more a fast road seat if that’s makes sense. The cockpit on an fd is enough to keep you in the seat and it was easy to get in and out etc. For track the more bucket the better obviously

im 33/34, and fit in perfect. Its actually really good, because on long road trips, it prevents you from slouching and falling asleep ... ive had mates that are 36 that fit in, not sure how comfortable they are though.
Awkward to get in and out, apart from that, no complaints

Just wish I was short and thin  even Cobra Suzuka GT size pressure my legs and those Zieg III's gave me pressure sores when I drove the car home after buying it

Yes, the cockpit is small but I'm a 32" waste and find myself sliding around a lot in corners having to hold onto the steering wheel to brace myself which slows me down.

Anyone tried Bride GIAS II seats? Don't like the idea of having a fixed seats as I use the rear bins a lot!

Is there a significant weight saving with the bucket seats over the stock ones?. I've not been able to get details of stock seat weight.

My car came with a bucket seat when I bought it (swapped to stock) and found it rather difficult getting in and out as I would have to open the door a lot further than normal to get in/out. Does anyone else have that issue (for reference I'm 6ft and 32 waist so not a size issue on my part).

Also how are bucket seats for long distance driving?

Yeah its awkward to get in and out of. I am the same size as you. You have to put a hand on the door sill, the other on the gearbox tunnel, then lift yourself out. Its not difficult to get out once u get used to it. Once your used to it, its just like getting in and out of any other car.
There is a significant weight saving with a bucket seat. The stock seats are very heavy relative to my bride buckets.
I found the bucket seats comfortable, it made me slouch less so it was actually quite good. I quite often went on 3/4 hour drives, and it was never an issue. Never complained about it at all actually.
