Hi all.
I think it’s a common problem but my rear windscreen surround is leaking really badly into the boot area. I think this has started since the rear windscreen was taken out and tinted.
Does anyone know where to get hold of a new one or is mazda the best place.
Has anyone replaced their own and what sort of cost am I looking at?
Thanks in advance
Jim

This should help you a bit, I've just bought nearly all the seals for mine :(

Bought a load of seals from amayama, should hopefully arrive tomorrow. Pricing is pretty good aswell

I'm getting the rear boot lid sprayed, does anyone know if the rear window weather seal can just be pulled out without damage?

The weatherstrip doesn't do the sealing, the urethane that sticks the window in does the sealing. It is possible to remove the seal intact and clean it up for refitting.. It's a bit of a pain though, worth fitting a new one while they're still available imo.

If you have a hatch leak, it's more likely to be spoiler or wiper holes if you have them, there is quite a big lip on the window seat that water would have to get over before leaking inside.

Another common one is the fixing points for the rear light plastic triangle covers in the gutters, those always leak unless you silicone the receivers in place.

why is it a pain? does the seal get damaged or distorted when pulled out, making it look poor when pushed back in?

My seal was so brittle when I was trying to remove it, I would get a new one as they are not that expensive. I had a water leak in mine and it was the rear wiper which I’m blanking off anyway
