Afternoon all.

I come from the Mx5 background and have only ran Elise seats in them. Fitment is straight forward with some customer sidemounts to fit to the Mx5 seat runners.

They offer much more room and lower the seating position by atleast an inch.

Anyone ever fitted these before. Can get some very nice options and a mint pair can be had for £450-600

Kind regards

Wouldn't be too hard to make some rails work on those. Might be a good alternative to the recaros as they're getting so expensive these days (y).

They look great..... but, all I can think of is how crippling they would be on say a trip to the ring or similar.

I drove to snetterton from the Isle of Wight a few times and they aren’t to bad.

Think I will give this ago and report back with my findings

had 4 different lotus’s so know the different variants of the seats. I personally wouldn’t worry about comfort, they are pretty good. Drive my Lotus over to the Ring and back without crippling myself. In fact didn’t get out aching at all. Danny from DM was in the pax seat, he didn’t complaint either :)

Ive got a set of early seats Elise in the MX5, so imagine they’d fit in the FD without too much issue. They’ve got inflatable back sections too to aid comfort. The ones with the harness holes pictured above are primarily Exige seats and are well sort after, you’ll pay £1500 plus for a pair of those and they don’t come up often!

Hi Fiddy, did you make progress with this? Just picked up a set of Elise seats last night because I've seen them mentioned regularly for the MX5s. Any tips on adjusting the rails appreciated

They dinnt look very comfy imo. I've been in quite a few Elise and vx variants but comfort was never a priority. Also the bolsters are tiny, they really hold you in? Suppose if they good enough for a 300hp Elise they good enough for a 25yr old Mazda.

I didn’t go this route in the end. Managed to get my hands on a Recaro Pole Position. However I’m still tempted to get a set an experiment.

It would definitely be possible. Will see how I get on

The ones I fitted to my old Mx5 were sooo simple, and the rx7 seat runners are almost identicle so would 100% be possible and relatively easy.
